E-Commerce
E-Prism is our full-featured e-commerce module.

The first bit of information you need to know is that we will utilize your existing shopping cart, or if you don't have one, we will provide you with a shopping cart.

The next bit of information that you should know is that we have offering a fulfillment solution since 1985, well before there was any such thing as e-commerce! What this means to you is that we have extensive experience on the most complex area of e-commerce, the fulfillment process.

The entire fulfillment side (capturing an order, processing the order, preparing the order for shipment and shipping the order to the customer) has been a core competency area of Merchant Technologies for 20 years.

Here is a simple scenario of how our e-commerce works...

E-Prism will poll your shopping cart at whatever predetermined frequency you desire. For example, you may poll your cart every 10 seconds, every 20 minutes or once a day, or anywhere in between. You decide.

Moments after polling, you will receive the order at your fulfillment facility. An instant later, the system will sends an acknowledgement back to your customer thanking them for the order.

At this point, E-Prism will generate pick tickets for pulling the order off of your shelves, packing slips for identifying the items that are placed in the box for shipping and an invoice showing the retail cost of the items for the customer. If the order has been paid in full in advance, the invoice will reflect that.

Next, since E-Prism interfaces with both Federal Express and UPS, an e-mail is automatically sent to the customer informing them of the shipment date, the method of shipment and the tracking number.

Special orders and backorders are no problem either. These orders are automatically cross-referenced to purchase orders. So, when the items arrive from your vendors you know exactly the order number, the customer name and the quantity that have been committed.

E-Commerce Features

Segregate Virtual Sales from Brick and Mortar
Prism allows you to either include or exclude your web-based sales from your traditional store sales. You may find that in some situations analyzing comparative store-to-store sales should not include your web-based sales.

Multi-tier Pricing for E-commerce vs. Brick and Morta
Often, retailers want to offer items that are on their web page at a different selling price then what is offered in their traditional stores. Prism allows you to set up same or different pricing down to the SKU level.

Establishing Multiple Virtual Stores
Have you had success with your Internet business? Do you have another concept that you wish to promote on the Web?

Prism will handle any amount of virtual stores you wish, much like we do with traditional stores. Your growth is unlimited with Prism.

Include and Exclude E-commerce Items
Many times, customers have particular items they wish to exclude from their web page. Other times, customers have items that they only wish to carry on their web page. Prism allows you to decide.

Uploading Information
Prism allows you to send information directly to your web page. This information may include item, description, pricing, promotions, etc. Much like your traditional stores!

Fulfillment of Orders
Once an order is entered on your shopping cart, Prism downloads the order, sends an acknowledgment back to your customer thanking them for the order.

Next, Prism generates pick lists, pack slips and invoices for your warehouse personnel to fulfill the order.

Finally, Prism interfaces to UPS and Fedex for shipping and automatically e-mails the tracking number and shipping method to your customer.

Transmission of orders
Every business is different, so we let you choose how quickly you respond to your customers. E- Prism has no limitations. From every few seconds to once a day and everywhere in between, you decide on the frequency of receiving orders.

Security of Orders
Merchant Technologies will set you up with a Virtual Private Network to ensure that orders being transmitted are safe from unwanted eyes.

Handling Special Orders
Merchant Technologies has been handling this for over 20 years and we believe we have the best methodology in the business to ensure that nothing falls through the cracks.

Special Orders will flow directly from your shopping cart and will automatically be placed on purchase orders with comprehensive cross-referencing for your warehouse receivers to view.

When the goods come into your warehouse, there will be no question on who gets the merchandise since information such as quantity, customer name, order number and the line number are prominently displayed for your fulfillment personnel to see.

Handling Backorders
You receive an order for an item that is temporarily out of stock, what do you do?

The answer is nothing. Prism does all the work for you.

Backorders are cross-referenced to your receiver's purchase order copy automatically. If, for example you are receiving in 1000 pieces, the receiving purchase order will prominently display that a quantity of 2 has been committed to customer Jones on sales order number 12345. Each backorder is reflected in this manner.

FedEx and UPS Interfaces
Prism interfaces to Federal Express and UPS shipping software. Once an order has been labeled for shipping, an acknowledgement is e-mailed directly to your customer with the date, shipping method and tracking number of the shipment.

Special Customer Terms
Some customers may get special pricing, terms or promotions. E-Prism allows you to manage these customers just as you would in your traditional store.
